






Cassava’s Next Frontier 2025: Driving Resilience and Innovation for a Sustainable Future

The Hub of Knowledge and Technology Center of Cassava, with support from the National Research Council of Thailand, the Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, the Thai Tapioca Development Institute, and the Thai Tapioca Starch Association, successfully organized the International Scientific Conference: Cassava’s Next Frontier 2025 – Driving Resilience and Innovation for a Sustainable Future at the Ruang Khao Grand Conference Hall, Vajiranusorn Building, Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University, Bangkok.
The conference was officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surachet Aramrak, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and representative of the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture. In his opening address, he emphasized the significance of the conference as a global platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and proactive strategies to strengthen the resilience and long-term sustainability of Thailand’s cassava industry.
One of the highlights of the conference was the participation of eight distinguished speakers from five countries—Thailand, Colombia, Lao PDR, Germany, and China—who shared cutting-edge research and practical insights on key issues, including disease-resistant breeding, pathogen diversity, innovative approaches to enhance productivity and resilience, and strategic pathways for sustainable cassava industry development.

The conference welcomed over 120 participants from government agencies, the private sector, and academic institutions nationwide, reflecting strong collaboration and shared commitment to advancing cassava research, innovation, and value-chain development in Thailand.
The event addressed critical challenges facing the cassava sector, including emerging diseases, climate change impacts, and growing sustainability requirements. It also served as a platform to foster new partnerships, collaborative research initiatives, and innovative solutions to ensure cassava’s continued role as a key global economic crop and to support the sustainable growth of Thailand’s cassava industry.
