Knowledge and Technology Center of Cassava
The Hub of Knowledge and Technology Center of Cassava focuses on connecting networks of domestic and international collaboration, as well as disseminating and compiling academic information and research on cassava from upstream, midstream, to downstream. These are achieved through information technology and academic conferences. Our hub serves as a main coordinator and facilitator in organizing small-scale practical training sessions based on expertise and the network’s members. We manage as an intermediate association for brainstorming sessions and discussions about issues that impact the potential of Thailand’s cassava industry and beyond.
Mission
Knowledge and Technology Center of Cassava
- Frontier research : We build the fundamental and insight knowledge of cassava linked with technology tools. This includes knowledge which is related to carbon credits associated with the cassava system and the processing procedures.
- Cassava research development : We support knowledge and modern technology related to the cassava’ development and improvement to achieve high yield and quality, withstand emerging plant diseases and pests, and adapt to climate change. This purpose is to breed varieties that prompt economic trials.
- Capacity building : We aimed to promote the establishment of a cassava ‘s research network in the fields of breeding development, pest management, agronomy, propagation and distribution, nutrient management, technology, and product utilization. Through national and international conferences, to enhance academic and research strength in Thailand’s cassava production.
Objective
Knowledge and Technology Center of Cassava
- Collect and consolidate knowledge, technologies, and innovations related to cassava.
- Disseminate cassava-related knowledge and technologies to researchers, academics, farmers, and stakeholders in the industrial sector.
- Establish a collaborative network among academics, researchers, research centers, government agencies, private sector organizations, and interested individuals—both domestically and internationally—to integrate fundamental knowledge and technologies with modern advancements.
- Serve as a central hub for connecting farmers’ research needs with scientific development, and act as a bridge between real-world problems and government agencies for further action and support.
