
On March 19, 2025, Knowledge and Technology Center of Cassava participated in the “Cassava Field Day 2025” organized by Department of Agriculture Extension Nakhon Ratchasima Province at Thai Tapioca Development Institute in Huai Bong Sub-district, Dan Khun Thot District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Mr.Weerasak Boonchoen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Extension, presided over the opening ceremony. The event’s objective was to promote the adoption of appropriate technologies and local wisdom, especially at the beginning of the planting season. It was a collaborative effort among various government agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Buriram, and Khon Kaen provinces, as well as cassava processing entrepreneurs (flour mills) and cassava farmers from these four provinces.

Morning Session: “Northeastern Cassava Market Situation” Forum
The morning session featured a forum on the “Northeastern Cassava Market Situation,” with perspectives from representatives across various sectors including farmers, the private sector, government, and Thai Tapioca Development Institute. The discussion focused on the overall situation of cassava in Thailand, the development of cassava mosaic disease-resistant varieties such as Itthi and Waxy, and carbon credit management, which is gaining global importance.

Afternoon Session: Knowledge Stations
The afternoon activities involved providing knowledge at various stations, with the aim of educating participants about innovations such as Azolla and PGR-Three biofertilizer. Information on resistant varieties and accelerated cassava stem propagation methods (X20 and X80) was also disseminated.
