📣 Training on Cassava Propagation Technology Transfer and Distribution of Disease-Resistant Cassava Cuttings (TME B419, IITA-TMS-IBA980581 and IITA-TMS-IBA920057) with aim to combat the Cassava Mosaic Disease (CMD) commence on the Kanchanaburi Province

📍 On May, 13–14th 2025, The training project was held through collaboration among the Department of Agricultural Extension, Kasetsart University, the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization), and the Knowledge and Technology Center of Cassava. This event saw strong participation from over 100 local farmers in the Sai Yok and Phanom Thuan districts of Kanchanaburi province. At the conclusion of the training, over 25,000 cassava stem cuttings of the TME B419, IITA-TMS-IBA980581 and IITA-TMS-IBA920057 varieties were distributed to participating farmers, enabling them to introduce disease-resistant propagation materials into their local farming communities.🌱

Key activities included:

• Lectures on the characteristics, disease resistance, and yield potential of TME B419, IITA-TMS-IBA980581 and IITA-TMS-IBA920057 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Phumichai

• A presentation on principle knowledge of CMD by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wanwisa Siriwong

• A hands-on demonstration of the rapid propagation method “Accelerated Multiplication by using The Rapid Propagative Method X20” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wannasiri Wannarat
